News at the Top – Canadians lose their jobs; politicians get a raise
Politicians are getting a $3,700 raise because of an old law they forgot to suspend. MPs shouldn’t be getting raises while Canadians are losing their jobs. And other world leaders are going further.

In a foolish bid to promote tourism, Yukon’s tourism department gave $139,000 for a tourism association to throw gold in a river as a publicity stunt. It turned out to be an award-winning waste of money.
